Signify, Big Time
About This Show
Signify is a Chicago-based ensemble that plays the music of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson. We dive deep into the band’s amazing catalogue of songs and play many of the longer cuts. Founding members Mark Pieper-keys and Fred Faller-drums, first played together in a production of Kevin Gilbert’s, Shaming of the True, called the Champions of Nothing. Mark was also an original recording artist with Big Picture, and Fred powered the eclectic sounds of Zip Tang. Rick Wolfe (Doc, as he’s affectionately known) played bass in Zip Tang with Fred and was excited to join Signify (then Cloud Zero) solidifying the rhythm section. Doc played professionally with Bad Oskar and has a long history as a touring rock bassist. Alec Yeager-guitar/lead vocals, was raised with the music of Yes, Gentle Giant, and Genesis before he learned to talk. He picked up guitar at age 12 and has been prog rocking ever since. Cathy Lawson Anderson, the band’s newest member, is a multi-instrumentalist, adding guitar, woodwinds, and vocals to Signify’s sound. A lifelong prog music enthusiast, (shaped by an early obsession with Frank Zappa and King Crimson) she brings her unique voice and unbridled energy to the band.
